Little Owl Academy Ltd. provides child care programs in the Central Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. We currently operate three facilities in the picturesque communities of Kettle Valley, Glenmore and Lake Country. Through our programs, we offer high quality child care services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children.

Our Story

Little Owl Academy Ltd. was founded in May 2011 by Naomi Miller, with the opening of our first location in Kettle Valley. As a dedicated and insightful early childhood educator, Naomi was committed to offering high quality early learning and child care services to the community.

In 2016, Naomi invited her friend and business colleague Amanda Worms to join her as a partner in the operations of Little Owl Academy Ltd. Looking for a way to invest in community and to make a true difference for children and families, Amanda relocated to Kelowna with her husband and three children from the Lower Mainland. Together she and Naomi successfully opened our Glenmore Little Owl Academy child care facility in the Fall of 2017. Gradually, Naomi stepped away from Little Owl Academy so that she could focus her time, energy and passion for young children increasingly on full-time foster parenting.

In the Spring of 2018 Amanda joined forces with another educator, Stephanie Sutton in order to build on the programs in both Kettle Valley & Glenmore. Together they accepted the 2018 Child Care Award of Excellence in Innovation. They then, began the journey to enhance both the philosophy and programming at Little Owl Academy so as to further increase the quality of care provided to the community. With the help of renowned early learning and child care consultant, Jane Boyd they developed a series of foundational statements to guide the future of Little Owl.

By late 2018, Amanda assumed full ownership of Little Owl Academy. She remains closely connected with all who have contributed to the success of the programs thus far. Moving forward, Amanda is committed to working toward Little Owl Academy being an exceptional place for educators to teach, children to thrive and community to grow.
